Designing Buildings Wiki user feedback survey 2018
At the beginning of June 2018, we ran a user survey to find out what you love about Designing Buildings Wiki, what you hate about it, and what you would like us to change. This feedback will help us improve the site so that you get more of what you want and less of what you don’t.
Participants came from a diverse range of backgrounds, but the vast majority were designers or consultants. |
Nearly two thirds of the respondents had found the site through a google search, and most now use it at least every week to carry out research or to improve their understanding of the industry.
Starting with the good news:
Generally, the responses people gave open-ended questions were positive, asking for more of the same, and in particular praising the accessibility of the site and and the vast array of links between articles that allow users to navigate intuitively from one piece of information to the another.
But there were also some suggestions for changes and a few criticisms:
There was a demand for more ways of sharing information, through video, images, webinars and forums. There were calls for more international information, or information that is not so UK-centric. There was criticism that some information is not totally up-to-date, or not detailed enough. There was criticism that it can take too long to find specific information. |
We will now go through the responses in detail and see which ones we can take on board as we continue to develop Designing Buildings Wiki. Thank you to everyone that took the time to participate, this feedback is invaluable to us in making sure we improve the site in ways that suit you.
If there is anything else you would like to tell us, email: [email protected].
We were left with one final suggestion to ponder '...why don't you pick another industry and do it again?'
